Someone recently reminded me that 2015 will be the 10th anniversary of our club’s founding. That is indeed cause for a celebration!
The International Women’s Club of Stuttgart exists because two British expats looked around and thought, why is there no women’s club in this town? There were more specialized groups at the time (e.g. just for Americans) but none in the inclusive tradition of international women’s clubs and associations all over the world. So they created one; not an easy task in highly bureaucratic Germany!
In this first of many posts about our 10 years as a club, I’d like to thank those two women, Anne Waldek-Thill and Caroline von Falkenhausen, for their initiative and organizational chutzpah. We wouldn’t be here without you!
